The 2016 Sonata Plug-in Hybrid will go on sale in the USA for a base cost of $34,600. After the destination charge of $835 and subtracting the federal tax credit, overall cost is right around $31,500. The Hyundai PHEV does cost slightly more than the 2016 Volt and only has half of the EV range, but it is a larger vehicle, so sales in the USA are expected to do quite well.
